il y a 8 ansDo not do like the guy in the photo. For interviews, it's a white shirt ONLY. Any other color is an automatic rejection. They get so many applicants that they find any reason to narrow down the selection. While we're at it, dark traditional suits(black, grey, dark blue, no khaki colors or suits with those skinny cigarette pants or those short jackets that look like they shrunk in the rain). Remember, the hiring partners are like everyone else; they hate douches.
AC
il y a 8 ansDo not listen to grandpa, kids.
Use your head and dress for success.
(partners and hiring committees also hate bland people.)
DSG
il y a 8 ansIf you listen to AC you'll soon be wearing sweatpants as you wait for your b.s. cheques.
In any case, for the great majority of applicants (as high as 90%) you have no chance of landing a stage in the firms above, no matter what you wear.

il y a 8 ansYeah, keep blaming your lack of success on the colour of the shirt you wore for the interviews (did you get any?) if it helps you sleep better at night....

il y a 8 ansDSG, while you often provide good insight and have on point commentary, would it be possible to perhaps lighten up a bit! There is a difference between sarcasm and sounding bitter and/or sour, as well unnecessarily putting down students and aspiring lawyers. Unfortunately, too often you veer into the latter category.

il y a 8 ans+1 on hating the short jackets, skinny pants and, if I may, the skinny ties.
DSG
il y a 8 ansI was trying to give constructive, free advice by telling youngsters what to wear at an interview and I get called a bland, underachieving grandfather. I'm the victim here.
Listen to me kids. They get so many applicants that they look for any excuse to cast you aside. Trust me, wear a white shirt. Keep the flashy stuff for New Gas Town (or wherever you kids hang out now).

il y a 8 ansI wonder what would happen if you openly show your affiliation with some kind of lefty movement or social justice warriors such as LGBT, Feminists, Animal right protectors, like by wearing a pin. What if you wear a Donald Trump pin? Would they ask about it? Would they just stare at it but be too afraid to ask? Would it not matter at all?
DSG
il y a 8 ansIn the old days the answer was simple; if you looked even a little light on your toes, no job. But firms seem more open to LGBTs lately. Notice how many male secretaries there are nowadays.
Dafuck?

il y a 8 ansNot really, he just expressed his opinion. You, on the other hand, seem a bit tense. Is this your first time on the internet?

il y a 8 ansPourquoi commenter en anglais?
Anonyme
il y a 8 ansJe crois que ça prendrait également un bouton pour signaler les commentaires de personnes qui prennent la vie un peu trop au sérieux...
