« La Couronne n’a pas réussi à prouver que c’était un cas sérieux »

Un ex-analyste du SCRS est surpris de la décision de libérer les deux jeunes accusés de terrorisme…
Ce verdict surprend Phil Gurski, ex-analyste au Service canadien du renseignement de sécurité (SCRS).
Il ne croit pas que le verdict de non-culpabilité cache des lacunes dans la preuve présentée par la Couronne. Phil Gurski ajoute qu’il n’est pas surpris de la stratégie employée par la défense, qui n’a fait entendre aucun témoin.
« Peut-être que la défense pensait que la preuve présentée par la Couronne était faible. Peut-être qu’il y avait un problème avec le juge et le jury. Ils n’ont peut-être pas conscience de la radicalisation au Québec et n’ont pas une bonne connaissance de ce qu’est le terrorisme. La Couronne n’a finalement pas réussi à prouver que c’était un cas sérieux », enchaîne Phil Gurski.
M. Gurski a également ouvert le débat sur les anciens combattants de l’État islamique qui voudraient revenir au pays. Dans tous les cas, il semble sûr que certains vont tenter de mener des actions terroristes. Il sera donc important d’après lui de bien les surveiller.

il y a 7 ansWith the government's revolving door system whereby enemy combatants can come and go as they please; with our PM's recognition that despite of everything they are still Canadian citizens protected by our laws; and with that massive compensation payout to a certain individual who was convicted of a terrorist act, I just gave up. It's like watching what you eat in order to avoid getting sick. No matter what you eat illness can strike unexpectedly and at anytime. So I go on with my life and hope that I'm not one of the unlucky ones who gets a terminal illness. That's the approach I take with this issue. The government and our institutions will not protect me no matter how much I complain. If these people strike again, all I can do is hope that I am not in the crowd.

il y a 7 ansTu ne comprends pas qu'il y a eu un procès? Le 'gouvernment" ou les libéraux n'ont rien à voir là-dedans, ça s'appelle la séparation des pouvoirs. La décision n'a pas été rendue par Trudeau, ni même les juges tant qu'à faire, c'est des personnes 'normales' qui ont rendu la décision. Blâmer le gouvernment est complètement hors-propos.

Hey, snowflake, the people who rendered the verdict are 12 of your peers. Trudeau was not part of it, nor was this a charter case. Your comment is so beside the point, it's ridiculous!

il y a 7 ansI stopped paying attention long before this particular case. And if you think that the government motives are multicultural reasons (as opposed to getting a strong base of ethnics who will always vote Liberal; a Liberal tactic that goes way back with the immigration of Mediterraneans), you're the snowflake.
